Just some Pics

Maddy drinking her first cup/bowl of hot cocoa of the season. For some reason I never unpacked my mugs and I have no idea where they are. These latte mugs are the closest thing we had. I don't think Maddy minded.
Maddy had Sophie spend the night and they were soaking their feet and putting on makeup. Man, they sure have it rough.
Maddy took this picture of herself. I thought it was pretty cute.
Is this not the sweetest picture ever?
This is cousin Kiera and she enjoyed sucking on Olivia's toes:) I think Olivia like it too, because she kept sticking her toes in her mouth!

This is Olivia rolling around. Sorry about the poor quality on the videos!

Olivia has discovered how loud she can be and likes to practice all day long. It's hilarious to listen to her.

5 Months!

I put Olivia in the living room on a blanket and came back and she was at the front door.
Can't help but smile when I look at this pic!

Another great hair day!! :)My little Olivia is 5 months old! She has started rolling all over the place. She is able to get where she wants to be by rolling and now she is starting to get things she isn't supposed to. Time to start baby proofing again! She is trying to sit up on her own and I don't think it will be long before she is. She is really enjoying eating cereal(as you can tell by the chubbiness) She is the cutest, chubbiest baby and I can't help but smile when I look at her. She loves her exersaucer and she loves when Maddy plays with her.

Pumpkin' Carving

We had some of our friends, the Hartzells, over to carve pumpkins with us. We had a lot of fun with them. Maddy loves their boys, Gary & Bram. We decide we wanted to be a little more creative with our pumpkins this year so we bought the carving kits and they actually turned out pretty good. I actually enjoyed doing it and I am going to buy some more pumpkins and do some more. Pumpkins from left to right: Micha's-The Cheat(don't ask), Gary's-One eyed Pumpkin, Larry's-An old man, Pam's- Spider web

This is Maddy's Cat Pumpkin, it didn't turn out too great!
For more information on Micha's Pumpkin Character please go to homestarrunner.com

Maddy actually touched the pumpkin's insides this year!
Micha, Gary, Bram, and Holly getting all the guts out of the pumpkin.

Being a little destructive and jabbing holes in the pumpkin.
Maddy is a big fan of Gary:)

Don't Take My Apple Away!!!

Maddy was eating an apple the other day and we decided to let Olivia gnaw on it and she loved it!! When we took it away she starting yelling until we have it back! It was pretty cute. This girl definitely loves to eat. I can't feed her cereal to her fast enough, she gets mad if I'm not giving it to her quick enough!! What can I say, she is a Bailey/DeVaux!

Fair Fun

Maddy went on this slide about 10 times in a row. She loved it!!

Me and Olivia(she wanted some of that Cotton Candy)
Maddy and Micha on some spinning bear ride.
We went to the Arkansas State Fair on Friday and had a great time!! It was a beautiful day and we ended up staying about 3 hours. We were all pretty pooped when we left. Maddy had fun on the rides and we enjoyed watching her and eating some yummy fried food! We had the fried Oreos which I thought were pretty darn good. Micha and I want to go again by ourselves so we can ride the rides(I think he just wants some more of those Oreos:)) We also got a kick out of some of the people you see at the fair, there are definitely some freaks and weirdos out there!! And then you have the guys who are working the games and chasing you down trying to get you to play those stupid, pointless, expensive games. Some of those fair people are pretty scary! I think my favorite part of the fair was the Pig Race!! Now that was some fine entertainment! As I am typing this they just showed a clip of a pig race from the Texas State Fair!! That is too funny! Those pigs were also big fans of Oreos b/c thats what they were racing towards!

Bedroom Furniture

With the help of all the Bailey Boys, we were able to get my furniture in over the weekend. I absolutely love it and think it is gorgeous! The armoire is massive but we managed to make it fit in our room and I am loving it. I have rearranged all the bedrooms over the past couple of weeks. I moved Olivia out of our room and decided to put her in with Maddy. For those who know me that is a very big step for me. I am what people call a paranoid freak!! I get so nervous not having my baby in the same room, it puts my mind at ease when I can hear them breathing and moving throughout the night. But I decided it is time to move her out(plus my new furniture wouldn't fit with her crib in there:)) I was also hoping Maddy would go to sleep easier if she had someone in the room with her. Plus she knows she can't cry or yell for us b/c she will wake Olivia up. So now the girls are sharing a room and Olivia's room is now the "playroom".
And our bathroom will finally be done today!! I will be happy to have my shower back to myself and without a million toys in it!!

So Different!!

I have been thinking about how crazy it is that 2 children that come from the same parents can be so completely different. When Maddy was a baby she was a very demanding and needy baby. She cried A LOT and was only happy with me. She wouldn't take a bottle so I was only able to leave her for about an hour b/c there was no telling when she would be ready to eat. The only place she would sleep was in our bed or in her swing. She was one of those babies where you spend 30 minutes getting them good and asleep, tiptoe to the bed and lye them down ever so gently and as soon as they hit the mattress their eyes pop open, the crying begins, and the whole routine began again. This made for a very tiring and draining first year. It took me a while before I wanted to have another baby b/c I knew how hard and stressful it was. Now don't get me wrong, I love my little Maddy to death and wouldn't trade her for anything. We also have wonderful and fun memories of her first year, it wasn't all bad. So we waited about 4 years, Maddy was pretty independent and there was nothing baby about her. So our little Olivia was born and it has been night and day! Olivia is a very happy baby and has made things pretty easy for us. She loves the bottle and sometimes prefers it over breastfeeding, so I am able to leave her for longer periods of time without worrying. She is happy just lying on the floor rolling around or sitting in her bouncy seat. The most amazing thing to me, and I just started this, is that she can lay in her bed and go to sleep on her own. I give her the pacifier, turn on her little fish aquarium and she is asleep in a few minutes. I have decided that every child is different and what works for one might not for the other. Some babies are born high maintenance and more difficult than others. I used to read all kinds of books trying to figure out how to get Maddy to sleep on her own and nothing worked. It was so frustrating b/c I thought I was doing something wrong and now I realize that's just how she was. Granted there were probably a few things I should have done differently but in all I think it was just her nature to be difficult. Maddy is a wonderful big sister and keeps us laughing all the time. She is way too smart and that often gets her in trouble. We still have issues with her going to bed but we are slowly conquering that. I can truely say that I look forward to having another baby(not anytime too soon). I forgot how wonderful it is to have such a precious little baby in our family and I love watching them grow and learn(though it happens way too fast).

Birtday Party

Maddy and Grayson dancing together.
Olivia showing us her "muscles".

Micha's brother Bud did a suprise 4oth birthday for his wife Terri. I told Maddy about it and she was so excited to go and told me she was going to wear her fanciest dress and when she woke up in the morning she put it on and said she was ready to go to the party. I was able to convince her to take it off until it got closer to the time. The party was at Bill Valentine's restraunt and we were out on the patio with a live band. I was very impressed with Bud's party throwing skills:) Maddy danced the whole night and said it was the best party she had ever been to. You can see her sweet dancing skills in the above video:)
