Reason #300

This is reason #300 I shouldn't be in the kitchen!! I was making Chex Mix Muddy Buddy's yesterday and had everything in a ziploc bag and ready to shake it up. Well I decided to go check on Olivia as I was shaking it up. I stepped in the living room, turned the bag to shake and powdered sugar and chex mix everywhere!! I was so mad!! Mainly b/c I love this snack and now I only have a small amount left but also b/c of the huge mess I made so early in the day!! I am always doing stupid things like this when I cook. I just need to stay oout of the kitchen!

6 Months Old!

Olivia is 6 months old now. She weighs 16 lbs and is 26 inches long. She is definitely a little chunk!! She started sitting up a couple of weeks ago and loves to just sit and play with her toys or the nearest object within her reach. She has been waking up about once a night and the doctor told me she should be sleeping through the night. Well, I guess she heard what the doc said and slept through the night last night and I didn't wake up once to check on her! I think that was the best night sleep I have gotten in over 6 months!! She has also gotten on a schedule with her naps and is taking longer and longer ones. It is wonderful. Now we are leaving out of town and I am sure all of this will change!

Ready For Christmas!!!

I decided that I am ready for Christmas and want to begin in all the Christmas Festivities! So I will start by changing my blog background to Christmas. I love Christmas and think it should last longer then a couple of weeks. I am contemplating on where I am going to put my tree and how I will rearrange the house to accommodate the tree. Putting up the tree is always my favorite part. Then arguing with Micha that he has to put all his ugly ornaments in the back of the tree so he doesn't disrupt the beauty of the tree. I always buy tons of Christmas stuff after Christmas when it is on sale and put it away for the next year. I love getting my tubs down and finding all the new stuff I bought and forgot about. I love Christmas lights(preferably white ones), red and gold ornaments, garland, wreaths, nativity sets, wrapped presents under the tree, and the sound of Christmas music in the background. What's not to love about this wonderful time of year?

This is her favorite toy on the exersaucer b/c it is perfect for chewing on.
My little chubby-bubby.
Olivia looks a little annoyed and tired of her sis's kisses:)
There goes another one.
This past weekend Olivia was being a little cranky, started pulling at her ears, and had a runny nose. So of course I take her to the doctor knowing she has an ear infection and she did. I hope this isn't the first of many, Maddy didn't get her first one until she was 4. I am glad we caught it before Thanksgiving and being out of town. Now she should be completely over it by the time we leave. Just after 2 days on the antibiotics she is already acting happier.

Four Year Olds!

So today Maddy was watching the movie "Air Bud" and I wasn't really paying attention to it, nor had we seen it before. I was sitting on the couch and I look over at Maddy and she has this very sad look on her face and big tears in her eyes and being a little worried, I asked what was wrong. She then says, as she is fighting back the tears, "Why is he leaving his dog all alone? That is so sad, why is he leaving him?" I couldn't believe how upset she was about this movie and how closely she had been paying attention. Micha came over and explained to Maddy why the little boy was leaving the dog and Maddy just kept saying"It's just so sad." It was just one of those moments when you see how sweet and loving a child can be.(For those who haven't seen the movie, the dog comes back to save the day and Maddy cheered when he returned!)

This is the conversation between Maddy and Aubrey McCabe:
Aubrey-"Maddy, I am moving to Utah."
Maddy-"You are? Why?"
Aubrey-"My mom said that I am starting kindergarten and the kids here are mean and the kids in Utah are nice, so I need to move there."
Pam-"Are you sad to move?"
Aubrey-"No"
Maddy-"You mean you aren't going to miss me?"
Aubrey-"Don't worry Maddy, you can fly on an airplane and visit me"
Maddy-"Aubrey, airplanes are very expensive, they cost a lot of money to fly on one!"
Aubrey-"Oh"

We are losing friends left and right to that state of Utah!!
Another one bites the dust!!

BONFIRE

Madison, Pam, and Olivia staying warm by the fire.

Micha roasting his weenie. His pole looks a little limp:).
The kids got to do sparklers.
All bundled up.
Kristin snuggling with Olivia.
Some of our friends, Kristin and Otto, did a huge bonfire and invited us out. It was the perfect weather, cold enough for a fire but not so cold its miserable. The fire above wasn't the bonfire, that was just the one we used for cooking hot dogs. We had a great time eating and visiting with friends. I think Maddy's favorite part was Kristin taking her for rides on the Mule. Maddy loved it and wouldn't leave Kristin alone. We always knew when Maddy was riding b/c all you hear are all these screams, she's a screamer. Another awesome thing that I was truly amazed by was the flame thrower(I think that's what it's called) that Otto had. This thing was awesome!! It hooks up to a propane tank and can torch anything within a few seconds. Micha and I were definitely impressed and think we need to invest in one:)!! We had a great time and we definitely want to do it again!!

Halloween

Brock-Giraffe, Maddy-Daphne, Grayson-Batman, Melanie-Cinderella
Micha and Maddy checking out all the candy!
Kristin and Otto Beaumont as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
Maddy and Sophie
Olivia was a Ballerina for our first Halloween party. Maddy has a little bit of a lazy eye in this pic. :)

Olivia as Scooby. We lost her head thing at the church party.
The Scooby Doo Gang minus Shaggy plus Cinderella. Micha's hair was supposed to be yellow but came out green.

Halloween was pretty fun this year. Maddy decided she wanted to be Daphne after seeing the costume at Target one day(I think she wanted it b/c it came with a wig). We thought it would be fun for the rest of us to be the other characters. I really didn't want Olivia to be Scooby but it was either that or Shaggy. But I think she made a pretty cute Scooby. Maddy also wanted to have a Halloween party at our house, so we let her invite her friends and some of ours and we had a great night. All the kids ate dinner and were ready to go Trick or Treating. Micha and I stayed at the house while Maddy went with everyone else. We put her older cousin Harrison in charge of her. They were gone for quite a while and I told everyone that I was sure Maddy was having someone carry her b/c anytime we go on walks she can never finish and has to have one of us carry her. Well a little bit later everyone started filing back in, sweaty and without costumes. (It was a very warm night and our neighborhood is very hilly!) Maddy and Harrison finally got back(the wig was off by now), and Harrison says, "Maddy made me carry her almost the whole time!" Ahhh, what a good big cousin!! All in all we had a fun night with family and friends and have way too much candy left!!!
