Ice Cream and the Zoo

If you pet this elephant it would start making elephant noises and then spray air out of its trunk.

The kids touching some water ball thing, they thought it was pretty cool.
The high was only 80 degrees so we decided it would be a perfect day to take the kids to the Salt Lake Zoo. The kids had a great time. There was a baby giraffe that was only a week old and Maddy loved it.
David enjoying his ice cream away from all the girls.
Olivia, Maddy, and Maggie enjoying their ice cream.

Olivia was eating ice cream outside and decided to share it with Winston, aka "Woo Woo". Now don't let this video deceive your perception of Olivia, she has turned into quite the stinker lately. She has started throwing herself on the floor and kicking her feet when she doesn't get her way. She even gets angry at me and yells if I put on the wrong show for her or pick out the wrong shoes. I don't remember this stage with Maddy, although I am sure she went through it. Church is pretty much impossible and ridiculous! I spend 2-3 hours chasing her around the church and I am completely exhausted by the time I go home. One benefit of living in Utah is living 2 houses from the church so it is very convenient to just go home instead of dealing with my precious child. Olivia is really starting to talk. She says bath, woo woo, pat pat(Little Einsteins), nana(banana and her pacifier), dada, bye, up, and yeah. She has also started shaking her head no and blowing kisses. She is a very funny and entertaining girl, but man does she have some attitude!

A Bad Way to Start My Morning

So my morning started off with Olivia waking me up at 5:00 and then I find out some Jerk busted out my back windshield!! And they didn't just bust the windshield, they made sure they damaged the entire back hatch!! We found the rock they used lying by the car, it was a good sized rock. So we filed a police report, apparently we weren't the only ones this happened to. The pics above are after Micha cleaned it all up. I just don't understand the purpose of vandalism! Why do people get joy out of destroying other people's property. I am so infuriated right now. I hate stupid punk kids!!

Madison's Talk

So Madison gave her first talk in Primary today. She was so excited and decided she wanted to talk about families. So we wrote the talk this morning(because that's when I remembered), printed it off, and practiced. She ran into primary and exclaimed to everyone, "I am giving a talk today" and sat up front in the designated "talk chair". Micha went up to help her and she did a great job and I thought to myself, "It's over and she didn't say or do anything embarrassing." Well, think again! She ended her talk, said "Amen" and then screams in the microphone, "Bock", like what a chicken says!! Then all the kids begin laughing and yelling out "Bock" also!! Oh my, I am so nervous for her going to school and the things she is going to say and do! She loves to be the center of attention and loves to make people laugh, so I am picturing CLASS CLOWN!!! I am sure I will be recieving daily notes from her teacher!

Brock swimming in the little pool at the Palmer's.
The 4th of July was a busy but fun day! It was our last day in Arkansas so we had a lot of people to see. We were in Little Rock that morning and went to the Little Rock pancake breakfast with the Baileys. Then we stopped by our friends, the Harwards, and visited with them for a while. Then we headed back to Hot Springs and went to the Palmer's house because Chris and Clare were in town. Maddy got to swim in the lake for a while. She loved the little bumper boat, she could control it and it sprayed water. After visiting there for a while we headed back to my mom and dad's house. We had dinner, barbque brisket and chicken, a water ballon fight, and then did fireworks. It was a great day and I was so happy to be able to spend it with so many friends and family! We headed back to Arkansas Sunday morning. The trip back wasn't as pleasant as the way down but we survived. We made it all the way to Denver on the way back and got home by 5:00 Monday night. It was a great trip!

Fun in Arkansas

Maddy and Miles Harward. Miles was a little sad that Maddy was leaving.

I was able to go to Gina's twice while in Arkansas and Olivia tried her first sushi roll and loved it!

Olivia hard at work at grandma DeVaux's.
Of course when you are on vacation someone has to get sick. Olivia was sick for days and then Maddy got it for 2 days too.
Olivia and Maggie
So lady like!

Elder DeVaux Comes Home!!

David, Ada, and Maddy waiting for Uncle Gabe at the Airport. It was 10:30pm and they were all wide awake and very excited!
This is a sign that Micha made when Gabe came home from his first semester of school. We thought it was perfect to use again. For those of you who don't know, the Bailey's nicknamed Gabe "Manchild".
Maddy jumped right to Uncle Gabe, she was so excited to see him!
My little brother served his mission in San Salvador, El Salvador and came home June 23. The week before Gabe was coming home I started thinking how sad I was that I wasn't going to get to be there when he got home. He seemed pretty sad that there weren't going to be more of his family there to greet him. Micha saw how upset I was and told me to go home and see him. Once I was going David told Jenny to go too. We decided all of this Saturday and left for Arkansas Monday morning! 4 kids + 24 hours in a car=Insanity. We made it to Witchita Kansas on Monday,16 hours, and stayed the night there. That left us with only 7 hours to drive on Tuesday and Gabe's flight was scheduled to get in at 8:00 that night. We made it to Little Rock about 5:30. His flight"Y'all aren't the worst sisters after all!" Ahh, so sweet. It was wonderful seeing him come off the plane looking all grown up. Like most missionaries when they get home, he was quite boring and weird the first couple of days, but then the old sarcastic Gabe started coming out(thank goodness). He still would cringe and yell at me for saying certain things(it was actually pretty funny to say things just to see his reaction). Yeah I am probably not the best person to have around for return missionaries! The long car ride with 4 kids was totally worth it! Welcome home Gabe!!

Yes, We are Crazy!

Gabby and Maddy
Trish and Gabby
Me and Trish(Maddy took the pic)

Yes, we are one of those crazy, unpredictable families who are always changing their minds! We moved to Utah last week. Don't ask me why, let's just leave it at this is where we need to be at this time in our life. Maybe I am going to find Trish's future husband, or maybe I will be able to go cosmetology school out here, or maybe I am needing to be humbled for all the negative things I always say about Utah. Only time will tell, and if it doesn't work out, we all know we won't hesitate to move somewhere else.
One thing that is wonderful about Utah, is all the Temples. We were able to go to our first Open House on Saturday for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. When we told Maddy she was going to get to go in a Temple, she was very excited for it all week. We went with Trish and Gabby, and the Torgersons. It is such a beautiful temple and I feel very blessed to be able to attend such a glorious and beautiful event.
