Maddy’s 9th Birthday

008009

Maddy wanted to have a Cake Boss party this year.  She started watching Cake Boss over the summer and became quite infatuated with it.  I had seen several different Cake Boss parties on Pinterest and my friend(thanks Andrea) had recently blogged about her daughter’s party and they turned out so cute!  As you can see, Maddy wanted zebra and pink for her colors.  I was very happy about this.  I love me some zebra print!  We made all the girls their own aprons with their names embroidered on them.

We ended up having 7 friends come to the party.  They ate pizza and cheese dip and then started the cake decorating.

I had several different colors of icing, fondant, and sprinkles for them to decorated their cakes with.  My mom and Micha’s mom came and helped with the party.  I am so glad they were there!! It was so nice to have extra help.  All the girls did such a great job on their cakes and really seemed to enjoy it.

After the cake decorating it was time for presents and cake.  Maddy got some great presents, her friends know her well!

She had her party on Friday night.  We went to Logan’s Road House on Saturday for her Birthday meal at a restaurant.  Then Sunday, which was her real birthday, I made her fried shrimp, coconut chicken, and twice baked potatoes.

All Madison wanted for her birthday was high heel shoes!  I got her these black boots that have a small heel on them.  She loved them and thinks she is hot stuff when she wears them!

Happy Birthday Madison, we love you!

Family Pictures (long overdue)

We did family pictures back in November.  I got a rare and unexpected Saturday off, so I frantically got our outfits together in 2 days(talk about stressful). My sister, Marji, took them for us and did a GREAT job(as always).  The weather was absolutely perfect that day, I think it ended up being in the 70s.

Ellie wasn’t too interested in sitting still for her pictures, but we still got a few good ones of her.

Madison was all about taking pictures(as always).  She loves the spotlight!  She loves clothes and fashion so I tried to pick out an outfit that was both of our style.  Not everyone can rock a fur vest! Smile

Olivia is famous for NEVER looking at the camera!  She is always looking to the side or down.  Marji was able to get some great shots of her looking right in the camera.

Overall, the girls did a great job with the family pictures.  Once again, it was all about getting Olivia to look at the camera. The location we went to was great, just an old run down barn.

I LOVE how they turned out.

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve at my parent’s house in Hot Springs.

The kids acted out the Christmas Nativity again this year.  Ellie was baby Jesus(with earrings and a passie).  Maddy was Mary, and Livy was an Angel.  This is becoming my new favorite Christmas tradition.  Then they all sang “Away in a Manger”, it was so sweet.

Grandpa gave all the kids a vegetable.  They weren’t impressed until they learned there was money hidden in them!

I played Santa this year.  All the kids were anxious and excite to open their presents.

We got home from Hot Springs and the girls got ready for Santa to come. They sprinkled Reindeer food outside and got Santa’s cookies and milk ready.

They passed out pretty quick and Santa came.  He filled their stockings and put presents under the tree.
